SunFlare Co., Ltd.’s Life Science Business Unit hosted an exhibition booth at the 8th DIA Japan Annual Meeting, an event hosted by Drug Information Association, Inc (DIA) on October 27 and 28 , 2011 at Tower Hall Funabori, Tokyo. With over 18,000 members worldwide, DIA is a nonprofit association for professionals involved in all aspects of the discovery, development, and life-cycle management of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other such products . The aim of the association is to help advance specialist research in this field through the widespread dissemination of information among its members. This year’s meeting focused on new trends in global clinical development and on how Japan should adapt to these trends. Thanks to the many informative sessions that were held, the event was attended by even more pharmaceutical industry professionals than last year. The core services offered by SunFlare’s Life Science Business Unit have always been medical writing, quality control checking, and translation, but in recent years, it has pioneered a new business concept: DocumentCRO®. In September 2011, SunFlare Co., Ltd. became a corporate member of DITA Consortium Japan, an organization established to disseminate information about and promote the use of DITA in Japan. An XML standard for topic-based document authoring, Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) facilitates the modularization and systematization of documentation through the use of maps that assemble topics into deliverables. As documentation specialists ourselves, we believe that our active involvement in DITA Consortium Japan will enable us to make a valuable contribution to the further development of DITA. Also, given that DITA is an architecture that offers greater standardization and efficiency in document creation, membership of the consortium will enable us to continue to refine our own documentation processes.
At SunFlare, we strive to facilitate engaging communication, and to demonstrate our commitment to realizing this concept, we have redesigned our corporate logo. The oval around the word “Sun” symbolizes our position as an interface to the global community, and our corporate name “SunFlare” signifies innovation, speed, and dynamism. It reflects our dedication to advancing the global community by delivering quality documents quickly and efficiently.
